Orville by Gibson was a series of Gibson guitars made in Japan with Gibson electronics and hardware in the 90s. It shouldn't be confused with the Orville range (without "by Gibson", which were budget-quality instruments). What you get on an "Orville by Gibson" is Gibson parts, and Japanese workmanship - they are the precursor to the Epiphone Elitist made in Japan range.
Here we have a rare ES-175 from Orville by Gibson, in a stunning natural finish. It's in very good shape, showing just a bit of tarnishing on the metals, light play wear and yellowed lacquer to give it some extra vintage mojo. The ES-175 is of course the quintessential jazz guitar, with a beautiful, nuanced tone and excellent playability. And while it excels at jazz, it's perfect for rock 'n roll, blues, soul or indie as well - anywhere you need tone with character.
Condition: very good, fully original. Some tarnishing on the metal, very light playwear and a lacquer nick at the top of the headstock.
