The Ibanez Artstar AE200 is a very exciting vintage Ibanez - an electro-acoustic with striking looks and a super fast neck. This made in Japan semi-hollow thinline features beautiful flamed maple and a mini humbucker, as well as a piezo system. The electric tone is nice and jazzy, with very clearly defined notes thanks to the bone bridge - it sounds like a very good solid wood big box jazz guitar, minus the feedback. The piezo system gives you acoustic tones, making this a very versatile instrument. It's joyous to play and ready to be taken on adventures.
Condition: very good, with light surface wear. This guitar has been modfied and upgraded.
Mods: the piezo system has been upgraded to a high quality LR Baggs RT System piezo mic and preamplifier. It's also been given a separate output, so you have an output for the magnetic pickup, and another one for the piezo. The piezo volume knob has been removed, the output of the piezo preamp is set to a stage and studio standard of -10 dB. The hole for the knob has been plugged. The magnetic pickup may have been upgraded, because contrary to the original configuration, it is splittable.
The tone knob for the magnetic pickup has been modified, it now splits the pickup, so you get a single coil, as well as a humbucker sound. The truss rod hole cover and back cover are not original. While these mods take away from the original state, they do increase the sound quality and usability of the instrument.
