Oh my, on the coolness scale, it is pretty hard to beat this 8 string bass by Hagstrom! You may have seen this in the hands of mr. James Hendrix (yes, that one), his bass buddy Noel Redding or indeed Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead. The H8-II has four pairs of strings, each pair tuned an octave apart - like a twelve string guitar, if it would be a bass. Add the 30.75" scale length and twin DynaRail Humbuckers and the result is an absolutely unique sound. This would work very well in an experimental electronic setting, Afrobeat or Neo Soul. This is the reissue model, which is built a lot better than the original, and has a super tough trussrod that will keep the neck straight.
