The ES-Les Paul was a great idea of Gibson Memphis, and these have become very sought-after. And it's no wonder, with their combination of great looks, perfect playability and wonderful sounds. The ES-Les Paul is semi-hollow, with a mahogany center block, but this block is much smaller than that of an ES-335, making this a guitar that has a strong acoustic voice. The Pickups are Gibson MHS (Memphis Historic Spec - hand wound, scatterwound, unpotted, with unmatched coils, the nicest humbuckers Gibson makes), they sound phenomenal. Tonally, it's very versatile, you could easily do a full gig with just this guitar. Clean, they've got twang and chime, but roll back the tone and you've got great jazz and blues tones. With some dirt, it's perfect for rock, heavier blues, but also indie and alt-country.
